Job Description

Support Worker£16p/h weekday rate and £18p/h weekend rate, with enhanced rates for Bank HolidaysChester-Le-Street, Durham for two back to back waking nights on a rota system of 9 hours per night (18 hours per week) Additional hours availablefor holiday cover.The RoleDo you have experience working in the UKs Health and Social Care Sector Are you motivated, flexible, respectful and dedicated to providing excellent standards of care If so, we are looking for you.We are looking to recruit a talented team to work on our single cover, 24-hours a day support package, for a gentleman living in the Chester-le-Street area. We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience of supporting people with disabilities.It is important to note that there are 3 large dogs (Huskies) on the property. They areby nature of the breedhigh in energy. The dogs are well trained, they are not aggressive but are protective of the family so a willingness to form familiarity withthe dogs is essential.The dogs are free roaming but are kept outdoorsthe service user does like to utilise the outside space where possible so contact with them is likely.Key Responsibilities:The key responsibilities of a Support Worker include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing daily tasks and routines by supporting the service user
  • Recording daily logs, medication, nutrition and activities with a high level of accuracy
  • Carrying out work delegated by Team Leader
  • Working on a rota pattern to deliver 24 hours support including sleeping and waking nights
The CompanyConfidence Care and Support Limited offer a full range of support packages to enable people to remain living in their own home. We offer calls from 30 minutes to 24 hours live in care. We provide home care to clients in the following local authority areas:Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, Durham, Northumberland and through private contracts with Solicitors, Case Managers and direct purchase from individuals.The PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Support Worker are:
  • Relevant experience of supporting people with disabilities, previous knowledge of brain injury would be beneficial.
  • An NVQ or Diploma level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential as full training given and Diplomas supported.
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility.
