Are you an experienced and detail-oriented individual with a passion for finance and a knack for managing accounts payable functionsBMC Recruitment Group are delighted to work alongside an established organisation who are looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager on a full time, permanent contract in Chester le Street. As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established policies and procedures.The role is 5 days working in the office due to the nature of the business. Responsibilities:* Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management.* Review and verify invoices and purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices.* Prepare and process weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.* Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts payable transactions, ensuring proper allocation and recording of expenses.* Oversee the vendor onboarding and maintenance process, including evaluating vendor contracts and negotiating favorable terms.* Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing any inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.* Implement and enforce accounts payable policies and procedures to maintain internal controls and compliance with applicable regulations.* Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the accounts payable team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.* Generate relevant reports and metrics to monitor departmental performance and provide insights to management.Qualifications* Proven experience at least 3 years working in accounts payable* Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, practices, and relevant regulations.* Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced skills in MS Excel.* Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret financial data.* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.* Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate and develop a team.* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.The client offers competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional development and advancement.
