Applications are invited for a new consultant post in General Surgery. The successful candidate will be a full time appointment in General & Colorectal Surgery. The candidate will be expected to integrate within the team of existing consultants in order to provide a complete General Surgery service. He/she will be expected to have a sub specialty interest in Colorectal Surgery of which expertise in management of disorders of the pelvic floor would be desirable.In addition to the management of general surgical cases and participation in a Consultant Surgeon of the Week (CSOW) rota, the department deals with the full range of benign and malignant oesophagogastric disease.All consultants are expected to participate in the on call rota (1 in 9 following appointment).The Countess of Chester Hospital is situated in a beautiful location on the outskirts of the historic Roman City of Chester.
