Job purpose/business benefit of role (1-2 sentence summary of the unique contribution this job makes to the organizations purpose)The Fleet Auditor role will be responsible for carrying out regular transport audits and identifying trends/issues within their assigned depots. They will assist the Group Fleet Compliance Manager by working towards a number of KPIs set by the business,to increase transport compliance and reduce fleet motor risk. By liaising with internal and external stakeholders, Fleet Auditors will be involved in a range of aspects from risk and insurance to project work and producing reports to help deliver service excellenceand support the operation of a safe, compliant and cost-effective fleet.Accountabilities - may include but not limited to.(A list of 6-10 statements identifying the principal outputs of the job)1Carrying out annual transport audits for depots in their region plus regular remote reviews to ensure compliance levels are maintained2Adhering to internal Standards and Processes to manage operational risks and compliance in line with the requirements of the internal transport audit3Creating, updating and distributing various fleet related management reports across all sites and managing and solving any questions and queries that may arise4Support Group Fleet Compliance Manager by training and providing consultation on new/existing policies and procedures within depots in their region5Taking a proactive role in business improvement projects both within and outside of Fleet Support to develop the business operation6Regularly monitoring tachograph and vehicle maintenance compliance in line with Earned Recognition Standards7Keeping up to date with changes to legislation and regulations to proactively adapt fleet related compliance strategies and standards equally across the Group8Liaising with the business operational teams to improve fleet/related compliance in areas including but not limited to Drivers Hours/Working Time Directive, vehicle defects and share best practice9Assisting with incident investigations and supporting field maintenance colleagues as requiredMeasures & Key Performance IndicatorsReduction in tachograph infringement rateReduction in vehicle accident rates and associated costsSuccessful implementation of Fleet Support/depot projectsContinued DVSA Earned Recognition AccreditationCompliance with DVSA Earned Recognition KPIsImprovement of Fleet Support MI, processes and associated systemsImprovement in Fleet/depot related KPIsChallenges/Decision makingTypical challenges faced in the role and decisions needing to be made by jobholderManaging conflicting priorities between fleet compliance issues and business operational issuesManagement, interpretation and presentation of significant volumes of data from various sourcesAbility to influence and encourage stakeholders to adopt changeWorking to deadlinesIdentification of trends and/or issuesAdvising colleagues on compliance and risk related issuesResponding to ad hoc requests from a variety of stakeholdersIdentifying and acting on areas for improvementAdapting to various working groups of all sizes and lone workingJobholder requirementsRequirements for qualifications, specialist knowledge, skills or key behaviours the jobholder will need to demonstrate to do the job effectively.Knowledge of transport operations inclusive of but not limited to, current and emerging compliance/legislation and recommended best practice throughout the industryWillingness for travel (must be in possession of a full UK Driving Licence)Excellent communicator who is highly organised and flexibleAbility to work both independently using own initiative and as part of a wider teamExcellent data processing skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills to all levelsExcellent time management and prioritization skillsA high level of attention to detail and accuracyAbility to meet deadlinesAble to identify emerging problems and issues
