Job Description

Compliance Testing EngineerAn exciting position has become available for a full time Compliance Testing Engineer to join our friendly team based in Cheshire, CH3 8JA. The successful candidate’s salary will be commensurate with experience.   • A team player, highly organised, motivated and self-disciplined
  • Qualified and experienced compliance test engineer
  • Previous commercial experience in air permeability and preferably also in sound insulation testing
  • Working knowledge of test regulations and guidelines such as BS EN 13829, TSL1 and TSL2
  • Commercial awareness of Building Regulations and construction industry
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to setting up and calibrate test equipment
  • Minimum – Five GCSE or equivalent at pass grade, including mathematics and a science.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience within a customer facing service industry.
  • Ideally employed in a similar role or customer facing service industry.
  • Experience of Fantestic software package
  • Computer literate with MS Office Skills, especially Word and Excel
  • Full driving licence with less than 3 points
  • Willingness to travel
    • Role Responsibilities
  • End-to-end management of client engagement and projects including assisting in the arrangement of site visits
  • Assist the client in achieving compliance with Part L and F of Building Regulations
  • Drive to site and conduct a range of tests to check the plot is compliant with building regulations part E, F and L using provided company equipment and vehicle
  • Undertake pre-test audits as and when required
  • Engage with the site manager to ensure pre-site checks have been conducted, explaining design features and faults / remedial advice for failed tests
  • Collating and analysing data during testing
  • Produce detailed technical reports to identify potential leakage areas
  • Issuing / lodge certificate
  • Maintain test equipment as required
  • Achieving / maintaining competency requirements of the air tightness / acoustic test scheme operator
  • Planning and designing test methodologies / strategies
  • Assisting with fee proposal preparation
  • Liaising with on-site contacts and ensuring our clients are happy!
    • Company Our client is a successful, well-established provider of technical compliance and sustainability assessment services to the construction and development industry. They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Compliance Testing Engineer to join their expanding team, assisting with developing this aspect of their business.You will be providing air leakage testing, air pressure monitoring and ideally acoustic surveys - leading this area of the business, with the support of the directors as they bring this service provision in-house. Your role will involve working closely with both the senior management team and consultants to ensure smooth business operations on a day-to-day basis.
