Job Description

Electro-Mechnical Test Engineer -Chertsey -£28,000 - £33,000 Plus BenefitsAs a crucial part of the manufacturing & Assembly process, the Electro-Mechanical Test Engineer will undertake the testing of high-precision electro-mechanical components, instruments and associated items as well as occasionally assisting the quality team withfinal inspection.As part of the highly skilled production team within this very successful mid-sized Manufacturer of Hi-Tech instrumentation, the Electro-Mechanical Test Engineer will cover the broad range of products produced within this low volume, high precision manufacturingenvironment, offering good variety in the work.The Electro-Mechanical Test Engineer will require both team working skills and the ability to work unattended. A pro-active approach to problem solving is desirable and the use of initiative is expected.Responsibilities Include:

  • Carrying out a range of functional tests against company test procedures, on a range of electro mechanical products, ensuring the product will be in compliance with the relevant national / international / in-house standards and methods
  • Checking compliance with build standards and specifications.
  • Functional and visual inspection of final products.
  • Calibration and Testing of instruments
  • Compiling reports and documentation for internal and customer reference on all tests conducted.
  • Liaising with appropriate Engineering and Production Engineering Staff on any test related issues identified
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • An NVQ or BTEC qualification in an Engineering Discipline or A level grades in Science and Maths
  • A minimum of 3 years experience with a good, broad working knowledge of electro mechanical products
  • A good track record of demonstrating analytical problem solving skills
  • Enthusiasm, good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work across a range of products simultaneously
  • Ability to produce Test Reports
  • Excellent attention to detail, organised and able to prioritise
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft and other analytical software
