Fundraising and Projects LeadTemporary, Full Time£18.04 per hour PAYELocation: ChelmsfordPlease note - candidates must be available to start immediately.Job PurposeEssex is a diverse county with some of the highest levels of deprivation in the country through to highly affluent communities, which creates a wide variance in life expectancy. Culture and Green Spaces will deliver exceptional customer experiences, harnessing the benefit of Essexs strategic location, with the objective of developing a financially sustainable operation.The Fundraising Lead will generate new income streams for the service by securing capital and revenue grant income and other fundraising activities, including sponsorship and donations. The role will lead the development of funding bids across the service and be responsible for drafting applications and producing final evaluation reports.With significant experience of developing funding applications and business cases for external funding, the role will also be required to develop and maintain a broad knowledge of different sources of potential funding across the range of services delivered by Culture and Green Spaces. The role requires an individual who welcomes change, has a growth mindset, the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across structural boundaries in support of key outcomes.Service/Functional AccountabilitiesLead the coordination of funding applications for Culture and Green Spaces in consultation with other service managers. This role will focus on funding for Weald, Thorndon, Belhus and Great Notley country parks, Bradwell and Harlow outdoor centres and the Essex Record Office, as well as for new environment, green space, health and wellbeing development projects within the service.Work collaboratively across the function, using professional expertise, to support the development of a fundraising strategy, business cases and funding applications which maximise investment, grant and sponsorship opportunities.Responsible for delivering funding for the Culture and Green Spaces business plan, which supports the wider strategic objectives of Place and Public Health and ECC more widely.Responsible for undertaking regular reviews of the most appropriate structures to enable the service to maximise the income that can be achieved through private and public sources.Responsible for researching and identifying appropriate streams of funding and grants which enable the service to secure a financially viable commercial model in the long-term and on a sustainable basis.Responsible for drafting funding applications in consultation with managers across the service. Projects will be prioritised as part of the overall Programme Management approach that will include advice from specialists such as the Fundraising Lead.Also contribute to the generation of new income streams from legacy donations, sponsorship and other fundraising activities, including Friends groups, volunteering initiatives and donation schemes at each site and on-line. Work in partnership with the marketing and communications team to maximise income through new initiatives.Develop own learning to increase understanding of external funding opportunities to contribute to bid writing and finding creative solutions to funding requirements. Through continuous professional development ensure that on-going learning and development is achieved.Responsible for liaising with funding bodies and/or sponsors for the duration of work programmes; including submitting final evaluation reports and budgets.Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.Skills, Knowledge and Experience
