Job Description

Estimator (Lightning Protection) £26k - £35k (dep on experience), Pension, 20 days holiday, plus PH’s. Annual Performance Bonus.The CompanyWorking for a well-established company based in Chatham. My client is looking to recruit an Estimator based in their Chatham office.The Role We have a vacancy for an Estimator to work alongside our existing estimating team within our clients Chatham office. Their core services are Lightning Protection, Power Earthing and Specialist Access (Steeplejacks) operating from a number of regional offices. Full internal training in the role will be given and external training in the relevant standards.Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating, designing and risk assessing Lightning Protection systems
  • Follow up calls and maintaining client contact
  • Liaising closely with the Projects team to ensure smooth transitions on projects
  • Site surveys, visits and Pre-contract/pre start meetings
  • Assisting Projects Department with the running of larger and more complex Lightning Protection and Earthing contracts, including ITPs etc.
  • Pricing of variations
  • Pricing of upgrades - working in conjunction with the Test and Inspections Manager
  • Surge protection and Earthing - extending knowledge and working these into designs
  • BS EN 62305 Accreditation desirable
    • The ideal candidate:
  • Existing estimating experience within the building construction / lightning protection Industry would be helpful.
  • Problem solver with excellent numerical / analytical skills and computer literacy.
  • Excellent time management skills, punctual with good communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (computer literacy, Word, Excel).
