Do you have a Theatre backgroundAre you available to work ad-hoc shiftsReed is working with the Catford Broadway Theatre who are seeking Theatre Stewards to cover the box office and theatre bar for ad hoc events.This is a varied job, the key purpose is to ensure everyone visiting the theatre has the best possible experience. We want to go the extra mile to make our theatre the best it can be for our local community and we’re looking for people that share these samevalues.You must be available for ad-hoc evening and weekend shifts.What will I be doing Bar Shift The hugely diverse range of shows and audiences means that no two shifts will feel the same, as you could be dealing with a Jamaican comedy gig one night and an elaborate musical the next, encouraging you to adapt your style in order to serve guests mosteffectively. Working on a theatre bar is unlike anything else, and if you have a real passion for fast-paced, high class customer service, this role will suit you perfectly. Key responsibilities: Serving a wide variety of drinks and snacks to our theatregoers.Maintaining an ordered and efficient work environment before and during the show. Upselling premium products, merchandise, and interval orders for our guest’s convenience. Processing fast and accurate payments.Stewarding shift You’ll be in the theatre itself, doing a variety of things depending on the show. You may be allocated a specific door to check tickets or given a more active role to help guests find their seats. Occasionally you might sell ice creams in the auditoriumor assist with other tasks as required. Key responsibilities: Directing theatregoers throughout front-of-house and the auditorium, checking tickets/ensuring everyone is sat in the correct seat. Selling ice creams/assisting bar staff during the interval. Litter-pickingand other ad hoc venue maintenance as required.What are the shift times Times vary depending on the event or show. We guarantee payment for four hours (even though sometimes shifts are shorter than this), but you may be required for up to six (or more!) depending on the event. Most shifts start between 60-90 minutes before theshow starts, so you’ll usually be required between 5.30pm and 7pm for an evening show.We try to accommodate travel requirements, like leaving to catch a last train home, so do let the Duty Manager on shift know as soon as possible.Please apply with an up-to-date CV to be considered and we will contact you if successful to register for ad-hoc shift work.
