Base Location: BirminghamSalary: Competitive Base Salary, plus Incentive Bonus and Company Car or Cash Allowance + Excellent BenefitsWorking Pattern: 40 hours | Permanent | Flexible Working Patterns AvailableAbout the DepartmentEnergy Solutions design, install, monitor, maintain and optimise building control systems and are part of SSEs Distributed Energy division developing solutions for smart places - cities, campuses and non-domestic buildings.Working alongside our colleagues we provide some of the most critical building and energy generation services required in a Zero Carbon world - renewable energy generation - including solar PV and battery storage solutions, heat networks, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.You can read all about what we do here What is the RoleThis is a senior leadership role within the business with career development opportunities for the successful candidate.Reporting to the Southern Business Director, youll be responsible for the development and execution of the Midlands business plan, including financial performance and all aspects of operational delivery. Youll lead an engineering team working with you to achieve planned objectives and budgets focused on both business and customer needs. You will manage a sales team to grow market share within the new build construction market in and around Birmingham; and you will be a member of the southern Business Management Team assisting develop company strategy.With budget responsibility youll forge strong relationships which will ensure commercial and financial compliance; confident the business unit objectives you set are clear and engaging at all levels youll regularly monitor and make improvements to maximise efficiencies. Your passion for the role will mean you have a strong feel for activity in the market place ensuring competitor and market differentiation which will make for informed decision making.Communication skills are paramount to your success as its essential that your stakeholders, up to and including the Senior Management team, are fully informed of operational objectives, plans and achievements and that a collaborative approach to meeting business challenges is forged. Performance Management reviews will be required with your direct reports to ensure objectives are clearly set, skill gaps identified, and development plans established and reviewed.What Do I NeedThe ideal applicant for this role will possess a solid operational background working at a Senior Management level. Youll have experience leading projects and supporting engineering teams within the construction industry, preferably within the BEMS Sector. Youll demonstrate a strong commercial acumen and be comfortable presenting findings through accurate forecasting and reporting. You should be an inspiration to others, setting out clear direction, developing innovative plans and identifying opportunities for improvement.
