Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual to take up a Senior Charge Nurse post within Older Peoples Service North Sector. The post available is in Lightburn Hospital. The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership and expert advice to all nursing staff and responsibility will include recruitment, supervision, development and deployment of unit staff with continual 24 hour responsibility for the management of the ward. The SCN will be required to work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team within the ward and the Senior Management Team within OPS. The post is key to the delivery of our nursing strategies and Older People’s Agenda ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and efficient person centred care. To be considered for this post you will be a Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration, educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level and have post graduate expertise within this area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge necessary to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
