Job Description

The Resources Assistant manages the selection of the leaflet and poster stock for the Health Improvement Library and is responsible for their storage, order picking and distribution to ensure that customers receive a quality services. The post holder is also responsible for the electronic management of stock using the online database and the issuing and returning of library stock using the Library Management System when staffing the library. This also requires familiarity with the online catalogue. Stock is also delivered and retrieved by van on a weekly basis from the Lanarkshire public libraries for collection by school representatives in support of the Curriculum for Excellence project. Promotion and marketing of the collection and service is also required, including attendance at health improvement events and maintenance of patient information areas in some health centres. The Resources Assistant has responsibility for the annual stock-take procedures of posters and leaflets. Responsibility for the ordering, storage and distribution of the national Early Years (previously HALL 4) materials.
