Job Description

General Manager - Welfare Hire Sector, Carluke Scotland, £44k - £47k + Car AllowanceAn exceptional vacancy has arisen to work for a very successful family run business based in Carluke, Scotland. Due to the retirement of the owners in 2020, this is a unique and exciting opportunity to take over full operational control of a well-established business in the Portable toilet and welfare hire sector.As the General Manager, you will effectively run the business on behalf of the owners and will influence all aspects of the operation. You will be an experienced Manager with strong leadership skills looking for a new and exciting challenge with an already established and successful business.As the General Manager, your job will be:

  • Oversee the day to day operation of the business
  • Manage key relationships with customers, conducting service reviews on a regular basis
  • Develop existing customer accounts to expand service offering
  • Identify new sales opportunities and close new business
  • Review operational processes and procedures
  • Manage SLA?s and KPI?s
  • Oversee health & safety compliance for the business
  • The successful General Manager will have:
  • Experience within the plant or welfare hire sector is essential
  • Previous experience as a General Manager is desirable
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Must have experience in sales and operations management
  • Excellent commercial awareness and ability to identify sales opportunities
  • Strong communication skills
  • UK driving licence
