Job Description

UX Designer - Contract - Outside IR35 - Remote Working OfferedUX Designer required to undertake various UX/Human Factors methodologies, human centred design practices and the execution of usability sessions. The role will require close liaison and co-operation with the customer, other HF personnel, systems engineering,and integration subject matter experts.The candidates must be a team player and be prepared to adapt to the needs of the project, require little direction and be a motivated self-starter.Typical activities will include:

  • Conducts user related research
  • Creates wireframe designs (HMI)
  • Designs workflows and wireflows (HMI)
  • Creates the visual style
  • Identifies UI components
  • Designs the interaction behaviour
  • Ensure compliance to the style guide
  • Prototype design and evaluations
  • Generate and update UX design documentation
  • Primary UX point of contact for software development team
Successful candidates will have the below skills/experience:
  • Skilled in design thinking and user interface design (software)
  • Skilled in user research methods
  • Skilled in evaluation methods
  • Skilled in prototyping methods
  • Experience generating production ready wireframes and wireflows
  • Experience conducting design reviews with stakeholders
  • Skilled in style guide development and maintenance
  • Experience in Axure
  • Experience working with Design Systems such as GDS
  • Experience designing from user requirements
  • Skilled working collaboratively with multi-disciplined teams
  • Skilled in clearly communicating the design processes, ideas, solutions and rationale
  • Experience working with software development teams
  • Skilled in advocating for the user with all stakeholders
  • Demonstrates an understanding of UX best practices
  • Experience working with human factors engineering (desired)
  • Experience with DEF-STANs and GVA Technical Guides (desired)
