About the role of UX DesignerOur client is a Specialist Mortgage Lender, operating within the Buy to Let, Residential Mortgage and 2nd charge lending sector.They have an exciting new opportunity within their Digital and UX team based in Cardiff 2 days a week. They are looking either for an experienced UX Designer, who has a good level of experience in the mortgage/financial services sector with a decent portfolio,or a Junior UX Designer who has around 1 years experience since graduating. For the Junior UX Designer, there will be opportunities to learn and expand your knowledge on the sector and the role.The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining in-house bespoke systems and provide design, UX and UI resource for new and existing projects. You will advise the Marketing and wider business on UX best practice and develop strategies and plansto enable the best experience for all our users and the effective acquisition and retention of B2B & D2C customers. You will be producing low-fidelity to high-fidelity concepts (from wireframes to designs) and running workshops with Stakeholders and Users,journey mapping, design sprints, ideation sessions and working in a Lean UX environment.Responsibilities for the role of UX Designer
  • Design and deliver continual improvement to in-house business software, websites and app.
  • Evangelise user-centred and data driven design.
  • Plan workshops and deliver findings to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Storyboard or translate ideas to designers and others, influencing internal stakeholders.
  • Web design practises including, wire-framing, responsive design; prototyping.
  • Keep abreast of the latest standards and trends in web and mobile visual design.
  • Establish and develop best practice across the design teams.
  • Develop and manage productivity and to continuously improve the design teams capabilities.
  • Develop a product roadmap to ensure the company is delivering products that align with future technologies and trends.
  • Ensure projects and tasks are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Work with the wider team of Developers, Marketing, Business teams and Third parties to ensure that all propositions are fit for purpose and meets the users needs.
  • Manage the Atomic UX process.
  • Ownership and Guardianship of Brand Guideline
  • Maintains a forward view of likely changes in regulation that could impact the business i.e. Accessibility.
Experience required for the role of UX Designer
  • Strong working knowledge of the creative process.
  • Proven track record in creating excellent UX and design work from concept to production.
  • Must have experience in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Able to work well as part of a team.
  • Works across teams at every stage to deliver the highest level of quality.
  • Wants to take responsibility for and measure the success of new designs.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
