The audience analysis team sits within Research & Intelligence at Ofcom, we comprise of six data and insights professionals that gather and interpret data on the UKs media consumption habits and present this to the rest of the organisation. Have you everwondered how many adults in the UK use TikTok or what the top show on Netflix was in 2021 These are some of the questions the audience team analyse and answer. Our work informs colleagues so that viewing, listening and online use is deeply understood andpolicy development fits the facts. We look forward as well as back to understand both what has happened and what the emerging direction of travel is.Purpose of the RoleThe successful candidate will be carrying out analysis work on TV using data exploration and intelligence platforms. This role is split between running the established BARB data and running data on VOD platforms in BARB and in Digital i. There is also workin using Touchpoints, BARB Establishment Survey and working with others in the wider Research and Intelligence team to provide solid evidence and narrative drafting for policy colleagues. You will produce analysis of audience data and industry / research datacontributing to Ofcoms flagship publications such as Media Nations and BBC Performance Report as well as helping other teams across Ofcom. Success is measured in the quality of support and assistance you offer to colleagues both within the team and in policyteams across Ofcom who are not specialists in data and research. You must be capable of using data intelligence tools and show curiosity and insight in what the results mean and what underlying drivers of changes might be. This role suits someone who is experiencedat TV audience analysis and in working collaboratively with colleagues in the media industry internally and externally. We are also seeking to further streamline our data warehousing approach and to evolve our knowledge of the latest video measurement data.So the position would suit someone who can contribute ideas around these to help to lead us refining our procedures, including potentially running tenders and managing some supplier budgets.A day in the life of this role
