Job Description

Bristow Holland have an excellent Senior Network Operations Center Engineer position working for an exciting nationwide organisation based in Cardiff with 3 days a week working from home.Responsibilities:

  • Manage, operate, and develop the network environment for retail and business customers.
  • Act as an escalation point for employees and customer service operatives, as well as providing excellent customer service to retail and business service providers.
  • Achieve 99.9 % service availability.
  • Perform necessary change management minimising customer impact.
  • Respond to outages and major incidents and follow incident management best practices.
  • Provide a point of senior escalation for level 1&2 Engineers.
  • Maintain and upgrade the Core network.
Key Skills:Essential
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF).
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security.
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working in a NOC.
Desirable
  • Experience with GPON/FTTH technology, experience in a telecom environment, knowledge of SIP.
  • A strong ability to build maintain and troubleshoot MEVPN services.
  • Incident Management.
