Job Description Your role at a glanceThe role holder is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in the undertaking of reporting and control activities within the LGIM Finance function. Specific activities will include the preparation of journals and MI analysis, as well as producingelements of the analytical entity packs, regulatory returns, liquidity forecasts, quarterly board submissions and annual financial statements. The role also includes revenue responsibilities, such as invoice preparation and month end analysis. What youll be doing

  • Prepare and upload accounting journals to reflect revenue for the month, foreign currency adjustments and tax
  • Supporting the financial controller in understanding monthly performance of the entities required, and monitoring and forecasting capital and liquidity positions of the entities.
  • Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors to ensure thorough responses are received to any questions raised during the annual audit process.
  • Assist with the production of the entity analytical packs, showing the balance sheet and P&L with written and graphical analysis of performance.
  • Assist with the production of the financial reporting packs for submission to the entity board meetings on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory returns for the FCA, ensuring that all regulatory deadlines are adhered to.
  • Supporting the finance director and other stakeholders by providing complete, accurate and timely information as requested
  • Ensuring up to date documentation of processes, risks and controls.
  • Assisting the financial controller in creating efficiencies within current processes.
  • Ad hoc reports, information requests and other tasks that arise throughout the year.
Qualifications
  • The applicant should be willing to study ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or be part/fully qualified.
  • The application of key accounting principles is key to this role. The jobholder must therefore either be working towards an appropriate accountancy qualification or have significant on-the-job experience within a Finance environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, and good knowledge of PowerPoint and Word is required for this role. The role holder will be expected to develop knowledge of SUN and Tableau.
  • This role requires the jobholder to interact with stakeholders across LGIM and the wider L&G Group. The jobholder should therefore have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The jobholder should show a willingness to openly share views and findings with other team members and a desire to take an active role in team meetings and discussions with management.
  • Particularly during the busy month-end period, the jobholder will be required to manage a variety of different deliverables concurrently. The ability to cope with periods of high pressure is therefore a key skill for this role.
  • The jobholder should be able to work independently to develop and enhance processes and to identify, investigate and resolve issues.
  • Strong numeracy skills are a key requirement of this role, and the role holder should be comfortable with key financial concepts and able to accurately handle volumes of financial data, manipulate the data for use in other financial or operational processes.
