Job Description

Fawkes & Reece South are working with a main contractor who are seeking a Quantity Surveyor. They work in collaboration with private clients and local authorities on highways schemes in Wales & Somerset worth from £200k to £10m based on NEC contracts. Scopeof works includes earthworks, surfacing, drainage and roads etcAs a Quantity Surveyor you will report to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and your role will be to work as part of a small team on various commercial duties (but not limited to):

  • Accurate monthly forecasting
  • Ability to challenge resources and costs
  • Notify in writing both successful and unsuccessful subcontractors in a timely manner
  • Produce and process formal subcontract documents and certify interim and final payments and final subcontract account
  • Produce bill of quantities/activity schedule for payment purposes
  • Assessing monthly subcontractor applications and issuing of payment notices
  • Managing the application process and submitting payment applications
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalentHave previously worked on civil engineering or infrastructure projects as a Quantity SurveyorKnowledge and understanding of NEC3 contractsCandidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UKThe successful candidate will be rewarded with a generous package plus opportunities to progress further within the business.
