Job Description

Purchasing Manager - Building Products Job Title: Purchasing Manager - Building ProductsConstruction Sector: Structural Waterproofing & Gas Protection Systems, Main Contractors, Brickwork Contractors, Framework Contractors, Structural Engineers, Design & Build Contractors, Private Developer, House Builders, Groundworkers, Civil EngineeringContractors, Infrastructure Contractors, Purchasing, Procurement, Supply ChainBased: CardiffRemuneration: £25,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)Benefits: Comprehensive Benefits Package The role of the Purchasing Manager - Building Products will involve:

  • Purchasing Managers position responsible for ensuring the company has the appropriate stock levels to align with the companys parameters
  • Liaising with all depots, maintaining maximum availability of key products throughout the business at all times
  • Interacting with suppliers at all levels of seniority, which includes negotiating, sourcing, pricing and product availability
  • Responsible for managing supplier databases
  • Processing purchase orders and managing goods in schedule
  • Daily stock profiling and maintenance
  • Maintaining strong levels of communications with all internal departments
  • Responsible for the importation of materials and following the process all the way through, from manufacturing to when they arrive at the respective depot
  • Developing a full understanding of the supply base and the products
  • Full training can be provided
The ideal applicant will be a Purchasing Manager - Building Products with:
  • Experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role desirable but not essential
  • A qualification in procurement or purchasing would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational, time management and planning skills
  • Ability to work autonomously or part of a team
  • Customer service focused
  • Computer and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) literate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great attention to detail
