Job Description

Principal Energy Consultant - CardiffRef: DB1086Salary £45,000 to £50,000 Plus BenefitsOur client is looking for a Principal Energy Consultant to join their award winning multi-disciplinary consultancy. The role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join their energy team, which works across multiple sectors such as commercial,health, education, Real Estate, Ministry of Defence, and many more in the vibrant city of Cardiff.In order to be considered for this Principal Energy Consultant role you will have;

  • BSc/MSc degree in Energy, Engineering or similar
  • Minimum six years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent project management skills and client relationships
  • Brilliant communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills
  • Technical understanding of building services and building physics
  • Knowledge of low and zero carbon energy generation technologies
Working as a Principal Energy Consultant you will;
  • Support with business development and possess market awareness
  • Complete energy audits of a range of different building types
  • Analyse metered energy data, building energy management system (BeMS) logs, operational information, and other relevant supporting information to identify opportunities for energy reduction and building performance optimisation
  • Prepare life cycle cost analysis for energy saving opportunities
  • Carry out project management and administration tasks
  • Line manage energy consultants
  • Carry out post occupancy evaluation (POE) of new buildings, including carrying out occupant surveys
  • Support the development of energy and carbon management strategies for clients with large portfolios of buildings
  • Prepare energy and sustainability statements to support planning applications for new developments
  • Support building services design colleagues to conduct options analyses and specify energy efficient and low carbon buildings and technologies
  • Support district heating specialists in preparing techno-economic models and feasibility studies for low carbon district heating and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) projects
  • Assist specialists in preparing renewable energy technology feasibility studies
  • Manage installation of temporary energy monitoring equipment at client sites, and analyse collected data
