Job Description

NOW Careers are currently recruiting for a Pensions Administrator to join their Financial Services Client based in central Cardiff.This is a permanent role, working Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week.Pay rate: up to £13.19ph DOECollaborating with a team to manage SSAS or SIPP schemes in a portfolio or functional capacity, as needed by the company. This may involve complete end-to-end administration of schemes or specializing in specific functions such as new business, propertyand investment transactions, bank reconciliations, regulatory reporting, processing retirements, deaths, divorces, and transfers.In this position, it is essential to adhere to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly while also promoting the best interests of the company, maintaining a positive image among staff, clients, and third parties.Furthermore, there is an opportunity to pursue professional certifications and actively participate in various projects and initiatives within the organisation.Job role:

  • To provide clients with relevant and cost-effective solutions that meet both regulatory and corporate standards.
  • To maintain high-quality and technically accurate output for all customers, consistently adhering to regulatory and corporate standards.
  • To meet all reporting requirements within the specified regulatory deadlines.
  • To follow and abide by documented processes.
  • To achieve performance service standards set by the business, currently targeting at least 98% of risk items and 95% of standard items completed within SLA (with minimums of 95% and 90%, respectively).
  • To proactively manage debt control and recover unpaid debts, promptly reporting any issues to management.
  • To effectively manage pension scheme liquidity concerning pension payments and financial transactions.
  • To ensure the accuracy and up-to-date status of work control systems, manual and electronic files, and scheme databases.
  • To act as a "buddy" and/or "mentor" to at least one other technician when necessary to fulfil business needs.
  • To act as a designated point of contact for a portfolio of clients/advisers, handling work requests and providing administrative/technical assistance while liaising with team managers and the technical team as needed.
  • To demonstrate professional behaviour, consistently adhering to the Company Code of Conduct.
  • To contribute actively to business projects or initiatives.
  • To identify and submit ideas for continuous improvement to enhance business operations.
  • To uphold the principles of treating customers fairly while representing the best interests of the company.
  • To adhere to company policies regarding the storage of information in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
  • To follow health and safety rules and maintain a tidy office environment.
  • To complete all mandatory regulatory training modules as per business requirements.
  • To undertake any other tasks or secondment deemed appropriate and reasonable by business management to achieve the companys objectives.

  • Good literacy and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.

  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of pensions market and wider financial services industry.
  • Good IT skills.
Desirable Experience:
  • Working knowledge/experience of SSAS and/or SIPP.
  • Professional qualification from the pensions/financial industry.
  • Actuarial/accountancy skills.
  • Project management skills.
