Job Title: Senior Oligonucleotide Scientist (more senior positions available)Location: CardiffSalary: 45K+ (DOE)My client is a leading research and development firm at the forefront of integrated drug development services. They specialize in the synthesis of oligonucleotides, with a particular focus on amidite chemistry and advanced oligonucleotide synthesis techniques.As we continue to expand our Oligo Chemistry team, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientist to contribute to our cutting-edge projects.The role:• Working collaboratively within the Oligo Chemistry team on amidite chemistry (phosphorus) projects and oligonucleotide synthesis.• Establishing new technologies for oligonucleotides using flow chemistry and innovative synthesis methods.• Delivering chemistry programs to meet cost, quality, and time demands.• Liaising with clients at technical meetings, and compiling comprehensive reports to convey results and offer conclusions.• Bringing scientific excellence to the research and development of new processes for our clients.The candidate:• A PhD in chemistry (or related subject) and, ideally, experience in industry or post-doctoral studies.• Practical understanding of Amidite chemistry.• Experience in oligonucleotide synthesis.• Detailed knowledge of organic synthesis and flow chemistry.• Some experience or a genuine interest in the development and scale-up of chemical processes to large-scale lab and pilot processes.• Expertise in the use of practical synthetic chemistry techniques.• Excellent task management and communication skills, with proficiency in the use of appropriate information technology.• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively to solve demanding problems.• Self-motivated and results-oriented with a clear focus on the delivery of demanding project objectives.• Enthusiastic and willing to learn, with a keen interest in challenging new experiences and scientific accountability.• Possesses good interpersonal skills that foster collaborative team-working to achieve overall goals.• A good communicator, using both written and verbal media; able to advocate and justify opinions while being open to differing viewpoints and working collaboratively.Keywords: Oligonucleotides, Amidite Chemistry, Flow Chemistry, Synthesis Techniques, Research and Development, Scientific Excellence, PhD in Chemistry, Industry Experience, Organic Synthesis, Task Management, Communication Skills, Information Technology, Collaboration,Scale-up Processes, Expertise, Results-oriented, Enthusiastic, Interpersonal Skills, Leadership Ability, Equal Opportunity Employer
