Job Description

Quest Search & Selection are proud to partner with a commercial B2C, multi-site business.The role of the Merchandiser to support the Senior Merchandiser in overseeing the long-term planning, trading and increase sales outcomes of the category.Duties & Responsibilities for this Merchandiser position:

  • Thoroughly strategizing range planning, closely collaborating with stores to ensure alignment between planned ranges and quantities based on sales performance.
  • Creating budgets and devising promotional strategies.
  • Providing advanced insights to Departments and the Company regarding Stock, Commitment, Sales, and Markdown for future planning.
  • Overseeing the coordination of Open-to-Buy (OTB) and stock intake, strategizing initial stock deployments and maintaining optimal stock levels to boost sales while mitigating stock-related risks.
  • Analysing pre-season KPIs comprehensively evaluating sales, margin, stock, and returns from both a holistic and detailed product perspective to facilitate range planning.
  • Effectively cultivating supplier relationships to ensure punctual delivery.
  • Responding to current sales and trends by adjusting OTB or managing existing stock situations through repetition, cancellation, or phasing changes.
To be successful in this Merchandiser position:
  • Ideally having 4 years + experience in merchandising
  • Have operated at a Junior Merchandiser level or above
  • Ideally have experience within a fashion, high street retailer.
  • Proficient in using Excel formulas.
  • Strong analytical and strategic mind.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to in-house forecasting tools and systems.
  • Possesses a methodical and numerical mindset.
