Job Description

IT Support Technician - Windows AD, Exchange, Office, Win 7/10Cardiff CF3To £26,600pa DOE PermanentWe currently have an urgent vacancy for an IT Support Technician for our client, a National Charity, based in the St Mellons area of Cardiff. Working within an existing team you will be responsible for providing desk side technical support to internalcustomers, with specific focus on supporting their 24x7 contact centre team at St. Mellons.We are looking for an individual who is able to offer prior Support experience in a Microsoft Windows AD & Exchange environment providing primarily 2nd line deskside technical support including application support of bespoke applications (CRM).We need someone who are able to offer:

  • Strong 2nd line (some 1st) technical support experience in a Microsoft Windows environment (MAC desirable) in an ITIL aligned enterprise environment
  • Windows Active Directory and Exchange 2016 experience
  • Installation, setup and diagnostics of MS Windows 7/10 & MS Office 2013/2016 Professional
  • Supporting Voice Over IP telephony solutions, specifically Skype for Business
  • Hardware setup, installation, troubleshooting and diagnostic assistance (Computer, Telephone, Laptop, Printer, Scanner)
  • Network support, Installation, configuration (LAN, WAN, VPN, etc.) incl. switches, routers and firewalls
  • Desktop and browser security components: including site security certificates, firewalls and anti-virus
  • Experience with IT Service Management tools i.e., ticket logging software, Microsoft System Centre
  • Ability to multitask across multiple incidents, be organised and have a keen eye for detail
Naturally, as the role involves supporting users you will have strong communication skills including oral, listening and written.The hours are 9.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday with occasional rare travel to support local offices and stakeholders throughout the country.
