Job Description

Health & Safety and Food Safety OfficerSalary Range: £30,000Location: Cardiff CF11Contract type: Full time, permanent Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pmAs a skilled and experienced Health & Safety and Food Safety Officer you will be responsible for ensuring that our organisation complies with all relevant legislation and regulations. You will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating potentialhealth & safety, and food safety risks, and for promoting a culture of safety throughout the organisation.Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures
  • Conducting risk assessments and identifying potential hazards in the workplace
  • Developing and delivering Health & Safety and Food Safety training to staff members
  • Investigating accidents and incidents and recommending corrective actions
  • Ensuring that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and safe for use.
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation and regulations
  • Collaborating with other team members to implement safety initiatives and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Health & Safety and Food Safety records
  • Conducting regular Health & Safety and Food Safety audits and inspections
  • Developing emergency response plans and procedures
  • Providing advice and guidance on Health & Safety and Food Safety issues to staff members and management
Skills:
  • Proven experience (2+ years) as a Health and Safety Officer or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective health and safety training programs.
  • NEBOSH Certificates
  • Other relevant health and safety qualifications
