Brook Street are the chosen recruitment agency for public sector roles throughout the UK.We are recruiting for Executive Officers that will be based in Cardiff, on a full time, long term temporary assignment.Job SpecificationThe AIU is the first point of contact for asylum applicants who make their claim in country.The AIU gather all relevant information about an individual and their journey to the UK.The unit operates an appointment system whereby claimants telephone to book an appointment and many appointments are currently being booked for applicants to attend regional support centres to register their asylum claims.All applications for asylum must be made in person, irrespective of nationality.Key ResponsibilitiesTo deliver a high-quality effective service for all asylum applicants and stakeholders of the NAIU. To ensure applicants receive an efficient, professional and correct service which quickly deals with the asylum registration. To ensure that customers arerespectfully and professionally interviewed in consideration of their needs. To provide a courteous and knowledgeable response to all enquiries.Conduct initial screening interviews, to ascertain an applicants identity, travel history and entry to the United Kingdom. To include any safeguarding referrals for vulnerable asylum applicants and NRM referrals. To ensure customers are respectfully andprofessionally interviewed in consideration of their needs, irrespective of age, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, ethnic origin, race or religion.Biometrics Capture (Fingerprinting)Capture of the biometrics of all AIU customers prior to the screening interview, to verify and to establish any previous immigration history.To act as the first point of contact for all customers arriving in the unit. To deal effectively with the validation and registration of those asylum claimants arriving with an appointment whilst identifying any potential vulnerabilities and walk in customers.Deliver a high quality and effective service for all applicants and stakeholders of the NAIU.Ensure applicants receive an efficient, professional and correct service which quickly deals with their asylum registration.Monday - Friday. Occasional overtime on weekends may be offered.Full SC is require before commencing in post.
