Job Description

Die Cutter OperatorSouth WalesSalary - DOEHours - Monday - Thursday - 6am to 3.30pmAny overtime hours worked after 36 hours will be subject to overtime rates i.e. time/half for the first 4 hours worked in the week and double time thereafter.Holidays: 26 Days Holidays + Bank HolidaysCompany - Established in 1940, this is a privately owned folding carton manufacturer based in South Wales, supplying packaging to a range of markets including the food, automotive and pharmaceutical sectors. We manufacture all carton styles includingCrashlock, Snaplock, 4 Corner, 6 Corner, Counter Display and Shelf Ready Packaging for some of the UKs largest brands in solid board, foil, corrugated & plastic substrates.The ideal candidate will be a fully trained and capable machine operator with previous experience of operating Cut and Crease Machinery. The Candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Die Cutter is essential.
  • Preferably have experience of Iberica, Sanwa or Bobst machines (or similar)
  • Possess a knowledge of safety, quality and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Responsible for the day to day maintenance of the machine.
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good organisational and self-motivational skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible attitude towards working is a must
  • Working overtime when required
The position
  • You will be responsible in setting up your own machine, (with the help of a floor assistant)
  • Running Iberica or Sanwa machines
  • Checking possible defects in the quality
  • Ability to manage a schedule of work on a daily basis
  • Report all safety incidents
  • Complete daily inspections of your press and report all potential maintenance issues to the maintenance department.
