Job Description

You will be responsible for building, developing, and optimising the conceptual and logical data systems under the direction of the Groups Data Architect. Other duties may include developing and preparing business information reports, system monitoringand performing system migrations.Client DetailsGrowing Medical Device Manufacturer and Supplier based in Cardiff.Description

  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions.
  • Knowledge and working of Power BI will be essential to visualise data that provides compelling and actionable stories relevant for business goals.
  • Translate data into valuable insights that inform decisions. Translate business needs to technical specifications.
  • Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes).
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.
  • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
  • Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Monitor system performance by performing regular tests and troubleshooting.
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
  • Understands data governance and how it works in relation to organisational governance structures.
  • Educate staff members through training and individual support.
  • Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.

Profile
  • Substantial proven experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of database structure, data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining using:
  • SQL Server 2012 / 2014 / 2016 / 2019
  • Azure SQL Data Warehouse
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Power BI
  • Solid data analysis experience.
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding problem solver.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentational communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in MS office software especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
Beneficial experience in:
  • Educated to honours degree (2.1) in a numeracy or science-based discipline.
  • Understanding of GDPR.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Job Offer- Up to £54,000 DOE- 10% Annual performance bonus- 6% pension- Wellbeing Benefits- Holidays allowence inreasing with tenure
