CardiffContract3 months+£27 per hour umbrellaThe Role:The post holder will be one of two Team Managers with responsibility for the First Point of Contact, Initial Assessment & Duty functions. It is anticipated that each manager will have particular specialist responsibility for either First Point of Contactor Duty but will be able to manage either function as required.The Team Manager will support and assist the Contact and Assessment Service Manager with the strategic management of the service and will take responsibility for a specialist area of social work, attending meetings and providing expert input as required.1. To ensure that all services are delivered in a preventative and strengths-based way with a consistent approach to eligibility across the service area.2. To ensure that the social work team staff have an excellent understanding of the wide range of help available to support and promote independence and wellbeing and the legal framework in place to address more complex matters.3. To be responsible for the First Point of Contact Social Work and Duty functions, working in partnership with Independent Living Contact Officers and Occupational Therapists and other related partners to deliver an integrated triage service and ensuringthat requests for social work support are dealt with promptly and effectively.The Candidate:Social Work qualificationSCW registrationEvidence of Continuous Professional DevelopmentA good understanding of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and All Wales Safeguarding Procedures and other relevant legislation/ Best Practice Guidelines.A good understanding of preventative and strengths based social work practice.Experience of supervising social work staff, and or providing mentoring to colleagues.Minimum of 3 years of post-qualifying experience within a social service.How to Apply:Please submit your application via the contact details provided and you will be contacted with further information about this opportunity or email your CV to me directly; or call me on; .Required skills
