Job Description

A powerhouse within the energy sector is looking for a Collect Lead Business Analyst to join their team in Reading on an 5 month contract initially. 1-2 a week in office rest from home - offices Reading or Cardiff or Perth - any location.CONTEXTThe Core Platform Replacement (CPR) project was initiated as part of a programme of work to address the impacts resulting from the divestment of SSEs Retail arm, and to support the delivery of Business Energys strategic aims;

The CPR project has been split into 4 phases; Analysis, Design, Develop and Deploy, of which the first 3 have now been completed. As the programme moves into the Deploy phase, there are a number of activities that need to be accelerated, including but notlimited to;
  • Test script preparation
  • Test script execution
  • Operation process / work instructions
The functionality delivered by Evolve enables all elements across the customer journey, from acquisition through to payments and collections.This role will be focussed on the functionality which enables the collections processes specifically.JOB DESCRIPTION The Collect Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Collect lead across a number of testing and business readiness activities.The collect scope encompasses all of the business operational and financial processes, related to;
  • customer payment processing and bank reconciliations
  • credit and collections processes
The scope of the role will be as follows;
  • Provide support to the Collect and Finance lead, independently progress deliverables and act as a point of contact across the project and business
  • Ensure test scenarios provide adequate coverage of the business processes
  • Drive the creation of test scripts and review and validate in accordance with the business and finance processes
  • Support the planning of the test execution by acting as point of liaison with business sponsors for test phases
  • Execute test scripts and record findings and defects tracking through to resolution
  • Support the Collect and Finance lead in the planning and preparation for cutover, business readiness and go live
  • Be responsible for the creation and amendment of relevant collect and finance process maps
  • Be responsible for the creation and amendment of relevant collect work instructions
PRE-REQUISITE SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE
  • Ability to understand complex issues and communicate them in simple terms
  • Experience delivering complex IT / Business transformation projects
  • More than 5 years experience within a Business Analyst role
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and work with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of creating and amending process maps (Visio preferred)
  • Experience of writing and executing test scripts
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and presentation, with the ability to engage across all levels of the Organisation
  • Ability to make a positive impact in a cross-functional environment
  • Track record of engaging and challenging the business, influencing and driving business change & an ability to question the status quo
  • Analytical mind, strong communication and presentational skills, highly organised. Accustomed to working in large complex organisations to challenging deadlines
