Medical WriterHealth Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Ltd is an independent consultancy specialising in the application of health economic techniques to support pharmaceutical pricing,health technology assessment (HTA) and value assessment, reimbursement, and market access activities. We currently have a team of 65 researchers based in the UK and Germany who specialise in the development of mathematical disease models, the statistical analysis of clinical trial and real-world databases and who perform systematic literature reviews and meta-analysis.Our clients are global pharmaceutical companies and our projects encompass a broad range of applications across all disease areas. Our work typically requires novel analytical approaches resulting in opportunities to publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.Role and ResponsibilitiesHEOR is continuing to expand and is therefore seeking to recruit a highly motivated early career medical writer to join our Medical Writing Team. The successful candidate will work primarily with our systematic literature review team but will also assist our analytical team in the production of client facing deliverables across a range of activities including the development of disease models and analysis of healthcare databases.Qualifications/Candidate RequirementsEssentialLife Sciences DegreeResearch or medical writing experienceExperience in conducting and reporting of systematic literature reviewsAbility to communicate scientific information in a range of formats, with a strong emphasis on written communication skills.Sound scientific understanding and analytical skills, with an exceptional eye for detail, accuracy and quality.Ability to work flexibly and contribute to the work of others in the team.A willingness to use initiative and develop your skills.Ability to provide and respond to constructive feedback, as part of editing and quality control activities.Ability to manage your time effectively, enabling you to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.Enthusiastic and professional approach to working with colleagues, clients and physicians.DesirableExperience in compilation or critical analysis of HTA submissions.Experience in producing written materials in the area of Health Economics and Outcomes Research2+ years of relevant experience in a consultancy role or similar positionMain job responsibilitiesDesigning, conducting and reporting systematic literature reviews across a range of review typesProvide background research of a disease or condition, detailing the epidemiology and clinical pathway of care.Identify relevant clinical trial data and provide a concise but complete report, highlighting key concepts.Communicate complex concepts and data to a wide and varied audience, including health economists, clinicians, decision makers and patients.Assimilate and interpret sources of information with appropriate guidance/direction from research teams and authors.Ability to write informative and interesting scientific manuscripts of the quality required for publishing in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.Work independently and as part of a team to research, write, copy edit and proof to the highest scientific and editorial standards across a wide range of materials including abstracts, posters, protocols, study reports, manuscripts and slide kits.Key BenefitsCompetitive salaryOpportunity to join Company Private Health Insurance schemeFlexible working environment and highly varied workExposure to work on a variety of interesting and innovative scientific studies.
