This small, but growing company based in Cambridge who design and manufacture a range of wireless products for cellular and bespoke communications are looking for an experienced Test Development Engineer to assist with the development of new automated test systems. Tests will cover all aspects of products and will involve control of commercial and in-house test equipment for a range of devices under test. You will work closely within the Development Team to anticipate new features requiring test and ensure that support for these tests are included in the product development plans.This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with solving a variety of technical challenges, learning and growth in areas of test automation development, process development, product certifications, and production processes. The company will give you opportunities to grow!Essential:* Excellent degree in Electronic Engineering or similar from a leading university* 3+ years experience developing software, ideally using C/C++ and gained in fields such as test automation or embedded system development* Experience with test equipment, ideally including remote control of equipment (e.g. SCPI).* Working knowledge of embedded/PC based Linux systems* Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.* Proactive and creative and always looking for opportunities for productivity and test improvements* Able to quickly pick up new technologies by learning from colleagues and, training and self-research* Effectively work, communicate and collaborate in a small teamDesirable:* Experience in mobile communication systems such as GSM, CDMA, UMTS or LTE, ideally to include a solid foundation in communication systems theory (communication channels, filters, analogue/digital conversion etc).* Experience of automated testing in an embedded systems development environment* Data logging & log parsing* Use of RF test equipment: spectrum/network analysers, signal generators* TCP/IP networking, experience of managing networking gear and use of packet sniffing tools such as Tcpdump/Wireshark.* CI tools, e.g., Jenkins/Teamcity.Start: Immediate Location: Cambridge, UKSalary: £35,000 to £45,000Benefits: Competitive salary, Pension, Life assurance, Medical care, 26 days holiday + public holidays, Flexible culture, Free parkingIf you are interested in this position, feel you have the relevant experience and skills and would like to apply, please call our team on or apply online.
