JOB AD:Job Title: Software EngineerType: PermanentLocation: Cambridge, UKPreferred Start Date: 01/03/24 or ASAPNo Sponsorship Available // On-Site in Cambridge // Competitive CompensationOur client specialise in the development of Porous Gallium Nitride material technology for application in MicroLEDs, Lasers, Power Electronics and Quantum Computing.Responsibilities:Design, develop and maintain custom applications Maintain and support backend services using FastAPI Work with PostgreSQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval Integrate with hardware and manage real-time interactions Contribute to buildinga scalable and robust software infrastructure Collaborate with cross-functional teams in R&D engineering, production and qualityRequirements:Strong hands-on experience in Python development in industry Familiarity with PostgreSQL and relational databases Proficiency with RESTful web API experience (e.g. FastAPI, Flask) A passion for building well-documented and maintainable code following cleancode principles Experience using Git for collaborative development workflows Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability and willingness to explore and adapt to new tools and technologies.Desirables:Experience with controlling hardware such as power supplies, cameras, spectrometers, sensors(e.g. VISA - Virtual Instrument Software Architecture or SCPI)
