Job Description

Software Engineer Start: ASAPSalary: £30-40kLocation: Cambridge Science ParkHours: 37.5 hours Monday - Friday onsiteJoin our clients dynamic and innovative team as a Software Engineer, contributing your expertise to tackle complex science and engineering challenges. In this role, you will be instrumental in the development of theirweb-based application, overseeing thecontrol of our cutting-edge hardware products and ensuring seamless synchronization with thecompanys cloud platform. As a key player in theteam, you will collaborate with third-party teams, introduce new features, and troubleshoot issues arising from theintegration of hardware, software, and cloud systems. Your responsibilities will also include leading code reviews, ensuring code quality, and adhering to best practices.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance a web-based application using Python, Flask, and ReactJS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware, software, and cloud solutions.
  • Lead code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide support in designing and implementing Graphical User Interfaces.
  • Contribute to product testing and documentation efforts.
  • Demonstrate a practical, self-motivated approach to problem-solving.
  • Thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, delivering pragmatic solutions within set timelines and budgets.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Telecommunication, Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in developing large web applications with Python and ReactJS.
  • Understanding of Graphical User Interface Design and Development.
  • Familiarity with Cloud architecture, specifically AWS.
  • Proficient with Git source code repository and version control systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in written and spoken English.
Experience in the Following Areas Would Be Advantageous:
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in the full product development life cycle.
  • Familiarity with libraries such as PySide2, PyQt, Pyplot, Scikit-learn.
