Job Description

Salary: Highly CompetitiveHours of work: Full-time, permanentKameo Recruitment is recruiting a permanent Software Engineer to join a growing Cambridge-based company specializing in the designing & manufacturing of computer connectivity hardware.The successful candidate will be joining as a versatile software engineer to architect and develop software for the Graphical User Interface down to the API level in our advanced range of digital KVM and matrix products. The role involves close co-operationwith the software team working on a range of products to ensure that we implement APIs and UIs that are well designed and easy to use. This is a key role in delivering the next generation of software for our high performance KVM solutions.Essential Requirements for the Software Engineer:

  • UX / Front-end web development
  • JavaScript (ECMA 5 preferred)
  • HTML and CSS
  • Web Development Tools (node, grunt etc.)
  • UX development
  • Design and implement new UI interfaces and components
  • Design, implement and maintain application-level APIs
  • Develop new features based on existing APIs
  • Design and develop new features for existing interfaces
  • Design and implement web services components and related business logic
  • Ability to understand a complex problem space and produce well designed, readable, testable, and well documented code
Desirable / useful is:
  • RESTful APIs
  • pug/jade and stylus-lang
  • Design for test
  • Python
  • Selenium (or other UI automation and testing tools)
  • C/ C++
  • Qt browser (Qt5 preferred)
  • Good understanding of network multimedia
  • Experience of Scrum and Agile
