Job Description

  • Job Title: Senior Scientist (Bioanalysis and Biomarkers)
  • Location: Cambridge
  • Contract: 12 months
  • Rate: £200 per day
  • Hours:5 hours
SRG are currently working with a global pharmaceuticalcompnay based in Cambridge, looking for a Senior Scientist (Bioanalysis and Biomarkers) to join the team.The position will take a lead role in the lab designing bioanalysis method strategies and interpreting data generated in support of new modality projects that will advance the drug pipeline. This is a scientific leadership role providing bioanalysis strategicdirection to the organisation. The position also requires working as the group representative in multidiscipline drug discovery teams where effective interactive communication and provision of influential bioanalysis advice is essential.Role Profile
  • Using a range of innovative analytical methodologies, this position will work to develop novel methods for the quantitative measurement of therapeutics such as monoclonal antibodies, gene editing components, proteins and nucleotides and/or biomarkers.
  • Your principle responsibility will be in the lab, designing, developing, and interpreting assays and data to support discovery drug program transition through to lead candidate selection.
  • You will be expected to represent the department on multidiscipline drug discovery teams spanning a number of different therapeutic modalities, thus ability to utilise a range of technologies in the lab will be essential such as large molecule by ligandbinding (e.g. MSD, Gyros), mRNA by PCR.
Essential for the role
  • A strong background in a biological or chemical related discipline with extensive experience of developing and qualification of methods for the quantitative measurement of biotherapeutics in biological samples (e.g. plasma and tissue) such as therapeutic proteins, monoclonal antibodies and biomarkers using technologies such as ligand binding.
  • A high level of independence and with an ability to develop hypotheses and execute analysis plans for pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and biomarker data.
  • Attention to detail, good communication, and collaboration skills. Outstanding record keeping skills are critical for success.
  • An ability to think and act creatively- independently, and within collaborations.
  • Experience with data analysis tools for analysing and visualizing pharmacokinetic and biomarker data.
Desirable for the role
  • Ability to utilise other technologies such as HPLC/MS, PCR and flow cytometry.
