Were looking for a Senior IC Design Engineer to develop mixed-signal blocks and integrated circuits using an exciting and unique flexible technology. As part of this expanding R&D team, youll need to have an in-depth knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design to create new devices and contribute to the technical direction of the company. Youll be a team player who can work well and collaborate with colleagues. This is a senior role which will include mentoring of junior engineers. Were ideally looking for someone who isnt afraid to invent new ideas and look for new ways of doing things. This is a really new and exciting technology which has never been done before, so you need to be able to design without manuals and specifications. Youre likely to be an entrepreneurial type of individual who can deal with the pressures that come with new technology; someone who has the experience and instinct to know if something will work or not, but have the analytical expertise to produce the data to back up your suspicions. Responsibilities: * Concept and feasibility study* Design of blocks* Schematic capture* IC layout* Simulation* Design verification* Document all relevant product and design information to educate others on novel techniques and guidance on product usage* Define, conduct and analyse data from product performance characterisation* Mentor junior engineers* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies What Were Looking For:* Masters / PhD in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) with an emphasis on RF, analogue and mixed-signal design* A track record of innovation in VLSI design and layout of analogue/digital and mixed-signal circuits. RFID HF/UHF interfaces, TFT, metal oxide or organic design experience would be a plus* Demonstrable experience with SPICE, extracted & mixed-mode simulations and verification tools (Calibre)* Robust digital design experience (Verilog, synthesis, timing closure)* Strong scripting ability (Unix/Linux, sh, perl, C, etc)* Evidence of excellent communication skills ability to work well with internal and external partners.
