Job Description

Plus plenty of opportunity for growth and development as we all strive to achieve our collective ambition.You will be key to driving Engagement Science components of iesos work, with a specific focus on human-centred / service design and evidence generation. You will use your insight into behavioural science to support the responsible design of new mental healthtools, and lead on testing and improving engagement to ensure that our digital products are compelling to use by people in need, and satisfy regulators and payors. You will facilitate the involvement of lived experience and public voice to inform design, andwork to understand and improve mental health interventions.Reporting to: Director of Mental Health Science Job Type: Full timeResponsibilities:

  • Deliver human-centred / service design research based on responsible engagement practices to maximise long-term clinical benefit for patients.
  • Engage, inform and educate relevant stakeholders within ieso about best practice in engagement science and generate appropriate metrics (with particular focus on patient-reported outcomes) as products are developed and implemented.
  • Conduct experiments and trials to optimise engagement. These follow best practice for ethical, inclusive and responsible testing, and provide evidence that is compelling to product designers, regulators and payors.
  • Work closely with ieso care (our therapy delivery service) that provides a unique in-house testing capability for our products.
  • Document engagement approaches in the mental health market by monitoring trends, gathering intelligence and interacting with external experts, advisors and key opinion leaders. Contribute to iesos thought leadership in advancing safe and effective toolsthat promote good mental health.
  • Author reports and lessons learned as experiments and trials progress.
  • Contribute to the successful function of the Evidence & Impact team, as well as supporting colleagues from across ieso.
RequirementsEssential
  • Advanced degree in a topic relevant to engagement and behavioural science for mental health applications (e.g. PhD in neuroscience, experimental psychology or mental health science).
  • Ability to lead research projects and deliver timely outcomes evidenced by a track record of research in a relevant field that includes recognised outputs and esteem indicators.
  • Proven ability to use smart experimental trial protocols and deliver research that adheres to best practice for ethical, inclusive and responsible design.
  • Confidence and expertise to manage relationships and conversations ethically and sensitively, with experience of working with diverse stakeholders (e.g., public, patient / lived experience, healthcare professionals and/or researchers).
  • Ability to work with complex factors in a time-efficient way based on a can-do attitude. Experience of juggling multiple projects and coping with competing demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable good working relationships with others, both within and outside ieso.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Innovative thinker, able to identify and implement pragmatic solutions to complex problems in a regulated environment.
  • Experience of working in an entrepreneurial way (irrespective of sector).
Desirable
  • Experience of using or adapting digital technologies as part of mental health care.
  • Expertise in the science of human-decision making and/or health psychology.
  • Experience of speaking at conferences and events.
