Job Description

Quantity Surveyor - Flat RoofingSalary: £30,000-£50,000 (Depending on Experience)CambridgeHunter Mason’s clientHunter Mason’s client has been trading for over 45 years and specialises in the supply and fitting of flat roofing systems and structural waterproofing. Our client is now looking to hire a quantity surveyor to join their expanding team.Key Responsibilities:As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting cost estimates and budget planning for projects in the residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors.
  • Managing project finances, monitoring costs, and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Preparing and reviewing bills of quantities and tender documents.
  • Assessing subcontractor quotations and negotiating contracts.
  • Conducting regular site visits to ensure project cost control and compliance.
  • Collaborating with project managers and other team members to maintain project progress and quality standards.
  • Contributing to the overall success and profitability of projects.
Qualifications and Skills:To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background of flat-roofing
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard software for quantity surveying.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure.
