Job Description

Process Engineer | Cambridge moving to Northstowe at the end of 2023 | 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday | £40,000-£45,000 depending on experienceOur client is the top global name in photonics-based products and solutions from ultraviolet to infrared. Their products are designed to avoid wasting energy, improve process reliability and bring more innovation in industrial manufacturing, and scientificand medical applications.You will be responsible for transferring newly developed products to manufacturing through a controlled handover process and delivering engineering process improvement and problem solving for manufacturing issues to support continuous improvement initiatives.The company will provide a supportive environment where you can grow professionally and unlock your full potential.Are you the right person for the jobThe following criteria are essential for this role

  • Knowledge of process engineering software systems
  • Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulation
  • Extensive working knowledge of standard manufacturing and engineering processes
  • Familiarity with product development processes and transfer to manufacturing
  • Technical Degree/HNC and/or appropriate project management qualification
  • Either an electrical or a mechanical backgroundboth would be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical and data handling skills
  • Good presentation of rationale and argument to do
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to persuade others to change existing practices
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems
  • Proficient with computer and information technology
What will your role as a Process Engineer look like
  • Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows
  • Supports the transfer of new product developments to production
  • Optimises productivity by designing, implementing and testing new equipment and procedures
  • Assembles reports documenting process status and changes
  • Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades
  • Communicates findings and proposals to upper management
  • Utilises process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies
  • Provides thorough instructions for the successful implementation of process changes.
  • Conducts risk assessments
  • Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards
  • Ensures equipment and processes are compliant, meeting relevant regulations for the market/application
