With the aim to increasethe information generated from DNA, whilst decreasing the associated costs, my client hopes their technology will help in bringing personalised treatments and advanced medicines into reach for all.As a direct result of their funding injection and continued growth, my client have exciting expansion plans across their technical team, including the expansion of their Product Development function where they are looking to bring on board a Principal Scientist- Product Development. Utilising their scientific expertise within industry based mid-late phase product development projects, the successful candidate will take ownership of technical product development projects and will have a key role to play in the strategicdirection of the organisation.This is an excellent opportunity to join a knowledgeable team of scientists at a key point in the organisations expansion plans and advancement of their product portfolio both under development and at market.Key Responsibilities of the Principal Scientist - Product Development (Molecular Diagnostics):

• Lead technical projects focusing on the development of best-in-class molecular assay products, utilising Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) methodologies.
• Resolve complex technical challenges, including troubleshooting, in line with Product Development requirements.
• Undertake thorough robustness, verification and validation studies to improve product performance capabilities.
• Provide leadership, technical support and direction to members of the Product Development team.
• Contribute to project planning, resource management and deliverable mapping to support the team in hitting R&D milestones.
• As a technical expert provide on-market support for launched products
• Accurately record and present scientific results through the completion of laboratory records, written reports and presentations.

To be considered for the Principal Scientist - Product Development (Molecular Diagnostics), you will need the following skills and experience;

• PhD / MSc in a relevant life science discipline such as Biochemistry, Genomics or Molecular Biology, or equivalent working experience.
• Experience developing molecular assay products, from concept/early-phase through to mid/late-phase and market.
• Prior experience delivering product development projects within an IVD / diagnostics industry environment, preferably within a Product Development framework (e.g., Design Control based on ISO13485).
• Demonstrable experience in design, execution and analysis of molecular biology experiments, ideally within the NGS space (e.g. library preparation, PCR, cloning, enzymatic assays).
• Experience leading projects and delivering against agreed timescales and outputs, including line management and/or mentorship of small teams.
• An agile mind-set, happy working within a fast-moving R&D environment with evolving priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and a personable nature to support relationship building with key stakeholders.
