Job Description

Power ElectronicsEngineer– Cambridge/Hybrid - £60,000 pa - £85,000 paAn Electronics manufacturer specialising in Power Electronics are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join their R&D team designing next generation Power Electronics solutions for a variety of industries including the rail & automotive sector.Responsibilities:

  • Develop new Power Electronics solutions and improve existing designs
  • Work through the full design life cycle from concept to release
  • Work in a small, multi-disciplinary team with other Electronics Hardware & Software Engineers
  • Manage time efficiently to ensure on time delivery of projects
Key Skills/Experience:
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or another relevant discipline
  • Power electronics converter module design & validation
  • High-power electronics
  • Good knowledge of Power Electronics components (MOSFETs, diodes, IGBTs etc.)
Any mix of the following is nice to have:
  • Simulation and modelling of power converters (MATLAB/Simulink)
  • Thermal design experience (loss calculations, simulations etc.)
  • Grid technologies
