Are you a skilled plumber who can handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment Do you enjoy working with a friendly and supportive team to ensure the safety and comfort of the University staff and students If so, you might be the perfect candidatefor the Plumber role in the Maintenance Unit of Estate Management.As a Plumber, you will be responsible for:Performing repairs and alterations to the plumbing systems and sanitary ware throughout the University estate, using technical drawings, piping materials, and spare parts.Diagnosing faults and ordering replacement parts through the internal stores system, and reporting the work carried out and closing down the work orders.Completing point of work risk assessments and adhering to relevant Health and Safety regulations at all times.Liaising with the Maintenance Unit Helpdesk, Supervisor, and other staff on a daily basis to communicate progress and problems and maintain good discipline and service level performance.Reviewing personal training needs and attending regular toolbox talks and skills/safety training sessions to improve your skills, experience, and knowledge.To be successful in this role, you will need:A relevant qualification in plumbing or equivalent experience.A broad knowledge of sanitary ware and the compatibility of specific parts.An understanding of hot and cold-water systems, and small-scale heating systems.A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and grow.Salary up to £30000 + some very good benefits that include 35 days annual leave
