Job Description

Laboratories contain a wide variety of specialist apparatus and equipment. It is essential these function properly to enable scientists to complete projects accurately and in a timely manner. This complex equipment must be regularly maintained, and any faultsor failures must be identified and remedied immediately to prevent wider disruptions. We are currently seeking an Instrument Service Engineer to be based on site, providing this vital support to the lab team.As a Laboratory Support Engineer you will be required to provide onsite technical support. This will include commissioning instruments and providing technical expertise, as well as enacting preventive maintenance and/or corrective actions to equipment suchas Balances, Centrifuges, Incubators and more. In addition to this, you will be involved in identifying and sourcing parts, reviewing supporting documentation and general coordination of on-site instrument function/performance.The ideal candidate will have an:

  • Advanced Modern Apprenticeship with NVQ 3 in Engineering
  • Post-apprenticeship experience in laboratory support sector
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, operational environment
