Job Description

Position: Mechanical EngineerLocation: Cambridge, UKAbout Us: Our client is a leading medical device company in Cambridge, at the forefront of innovative healthcare solutions. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in the design and development of medical devices that make a real impact on healthcare. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to bring concepts from ideationto realization, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components for medical devices, considering functionality, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance testing to validate design concepts.
  • Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design for medical devices or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (ISO 13485, FDA).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
