This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and operation of a prestigious institution known for its excellence in education and research.Position Overview:As a Maintenance Plumber at our prestigious university in Cambridge, you will play a vital role in ensuring the proper functioning of the universitys plumbing systems and infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to the overall safety, comfort, andfunctionality of the campus.Key Responsibilities:Routine Maintenance:Perform routine inspections and maintenance of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and equipment, to identify and rectify issues promptly.Repairs:Respond to plumbing emergencies, such as leaks and blockages, and perform necessary repairs efficiently to minimize disruption to university operations.Installation:Install, replace, and upgrade plumbing systems and fixtures as required, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.Troubleshooting:Diagnose complex plumbing problems and develop effective solutions to address them, demonstrating a strong understanding of plumbing principles and systems.Preventive Maintenance:Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of plumbing systems and reduce the likelihood of breakdowns.Collaboration:Work closely with other members of the maintenance team, including electricians and HVAC technicians, to address interdisciplinary issues and ensure seamless operation of the campus.Documentation:Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, materials used, and hours worked.Compliance:Ensure that all plumbing work complies with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and university policies.Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a qualified plumber, with a strong background in maintenance and repair.
  • Relevant plumbing qualifications or certifications.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency calls outside of regular working hours.
