Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and self-directed Laboratory Management Professional to manage the day-to-day operations of our laboratories, onsite. They will be responsible for the daily running of Teams lab space, equipment, including chemicalinventory and consumables, ensure project needs are met, whilst upholding Teams Health & Safety standards and complying with its ISO 13485 certification.The role will report to the Head of Lab Operations and EHS and will work alongside individuals responsible for Teams workshop and electronics capabilities, Project Management, EHS, Quality and Facilities. The role is offered as a temp-perm opportunity ora FTC for 6 months.Key responsibilities

  • Ensure effective day-to-day functioning of the labs, including a mammalian tissue handling facility
  • Manage lab equipment, specifically equipment management system, purchase, allocation, maintenance and calibration, including records
  • Maintain a chemicals stock management system
  • Facilitate routine inspections to help ensure best practices are followed and that labs are presentable for audits and client visits, as a showcase for our capabilities
  • Carry out lab inductions for new joiners
  • Manage lab access requests
  • Manage lab consumables stock
  • Supervise lab space and equipment utilisation to assist projects
  • Manage the climate-monitoring system including all associated laboratory equipment
  • Ensure clear communication is maintained between lab users and supporting functions to meet lab request needs of project teams
Essential:
  • Experience of working with hazardous substances
  • Experience in working in or managing a lab or workshop facility within a regulated industry
  • Experience of working in a project-based organisation
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular; MS Teams, SharePoint and Excel
Desirable:
  • NEBOSH certification
  • Experience of working according to GxP guidance
  • Experience of working to ISO13485 requirements for measuring and monitoring equipment
  • Experience of working with equipment management systems
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
  • Ability to undertake manual handling duties
  • Ability to start work from 8am and be flexible with time
