Job Description

Kitchen Assistant Cambridge £22, 020 per annumPermanentPart time (10 hours per week)Working days across 7 days, shift pattern to be confirmedWe are looking for a part time Kitchen Assistant to support all chefs within the kitchen environment to provide a first-class customer experience by delivering a high-quality food service.What you will be doing:

  • Support all chefs within the kitchen to develop a catering service that meets the resident’s expectations
  • Support all chefs within the kitchen to ensure all kitchen equipment is regularly checked, serviced and maintained in accordance with H&S regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure food safety practices are followed in the preparation and serving of food and drink.
  • Address any Safeguarding issues, ensuring that referrals and follow-ups are carried out in a timely manner
We’d love to meet someone with:
  • A passion to support kitchen staff in producing high quality food and food service
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as an effective team player
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Knowledge of handling and operation of catering equipment
  • Working knowledge of Food Safety legislation and health and safety procedures
  • Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
  • An Appropriate Food Hygiene Certificate - minimum Level 2 Food Safety Award would be desirable
