IT Project Manager

Job Description

We are working with a Cambridge basedtelecommunications equipment provider that develops and supplies products globally. They are looking for a Project Manager to join the Project Management team. You will manage multiple complex projects delivering businesscritical product solutions through to manufacturing handover, to demanding schedules and budgets, for mission critical customer applications. This is an office based role out of their Cambridge site with blended in home workingAs a Project Manager, you will be managing complex projects ideally for mobile communications solutions or similar technical landscape. As part of the role you will work in partnership with Senior Technical Leads / Architects and Product Managers to deliverindustry leading solutions into volume production. The main duties and responsibilities are:Be accountable for delivering high visibility technology solutions to time and budget. Show willingness and capability to think laterally and pragmatically to find solutions to problems and remove roadblocks.Work with the customer base across industries and markets around the world that solutions have been developed specifically for users in multiple sectors to face their critical communications challenges.Planning, Management and leadership of multiple complex projectsManage regular project meetings, ensuring accountability of team members and individuals in the wider businessEnsure approaches/techniques are used for building high performing teams, maintaining good team morale and a high level of operating efficiencyEnsure personal and team adherence to defined project management processesCapture and manage project risks and opportunities with appropriate planning of mitigationsCommunicate with stakeholders, ensuring an appropriate escalation of risks and issuesNegotiate the availability of project resources with Resource Managers and other Project Managers, ensuring smoothed and optimised resource utilisationThis job may involve occasional travelling so the successful applicant will have a full, clean driving licence and their own car. Travel expenses will be paid.What You Need to Succeed QualificationsBachelors degree in a related engineering disciple, or equivalent experienceTraining in project management to a project manager level, with accredited certification through IPMA, APM, Prince 2 or IPM or equivalentExperience and Skills5+ years experience leading development project teams in a multi-discipline environment on complex product development projects, using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.Experience using Statement of Work and Procurement Specifications while engaging with external design and manufacturing solution providers to meet technical and commercial requirements.Wider understanding of product development principles (Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing & Test) and methodologies to facilitate best practice for product design and development.Documentation of project management processes and an ability to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of existing processes.Nice to have:Experience delivering complex manufacturing test solutionsExperience with wireless audio and other accessoriesExperience with externally sub-contracted packages of workKnowledge of LTE, BT, Wi-Fi and TETRA technologiesIn order for your CV to be processed effectively, please ensure your name, email address, phone number and location (post code OR town OR county, as a minimum) are included
